Review on Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4X8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 LED Desktop Memory - Black by Keith Howe

Memory is Good, but RGB is Impressive

When I saw the Vengeance Pro RAM in a YouTube video I really liked the RGB look compared to other RGB models and decided to give the RAM a try despite having had bad experiences with Corsair in the past ICUE software had made. When I got the RAM I immediately started seeing problems after loading ICUE. The RAM was not recognized by the software and the RGB effects could not be changed at all. I searched the internet and was able to find a solution by disabling the three Corsair processes in Windows Task Manager and restarting the software. The ram's viola was recognized and everything was fine, but a day later the RGB effects went out of sync and opening and restarting ICUE did nothing at all. Restarting the computer didn't help either. The only way to get the RAM back to normal was to open Task Manager, stop 3 Corsair processes and restart the program, but the problem kept reappearing. Sometimes it only lasted a day, and other times the RGB effects would get out of step every time the computer was turned off or put to sleep. Although the memory part of the product works well I would only give this product 1 star because we pay more for RGB but this feature that we pay for doesn't even work properly. If this were a one off case of a Corsair RGB product not doing what it promised I would probably think it was just a defect or bug and my review would have been easier but it happened to me with this ram and keyboard k70 in the past on single computer builds too. While I like how RGB looks when it works I would recommend people to go with another brand as the ICUE software is just a nightmare and not worth the money or hassle.

Pros
  • Take control of CORSAIR iCUE software and sync lighting across all your CORSAIR iCUE-enabled products, including memory modules, fans, coolers, keyboards and more.
Cons
  • Hard to say
