To be honest I was very impressed with this carrier. I've moved across the country (from Oregon to Pennsylvania) with my angry cat. She spent 6 long days in the car and never managed to chew or get out of the stroller. What I liked the most was the capacity of the stroller and the buttons for attaching the seat belt on the outside. I didn't use the tray in the stroller while driving because it would be a huge mess. I put a small blanket, a treat ball and a stuffed animal inside. My cat had plenty of space to move around and sleep as she pleased. Towards the end of the trip, I noticed several small holes in the canvas that she could poke a tooth through. Could she leave this van unattended if she had enough time? Maybe. However, she ate one of the last tote bags I bought for her and ran away after about 5 minutes. This carrier has certainly held up much, much better. Even after the trip I found my cat dozing in the carrier (I left it open in the corner of the house). It surprised me that she still loved him after being stuck in it the whole trip!
