Very handy for use in AV surge protector locations where the use of more and more 12V transformers these days can effectively replace a 12 outlet surge protector with one with 7 or fewer outlets due to the Size of those little transformers and of course how many of those devices you plug into them. It's impossible not to lose at least one socket, if not two, because they overlap some of the others. Those little 12v transformers don't usually carry much load, so there's no harm in plugging two of these into the same socket on your surge protector, I suppose. The quality of these socket extenders/splitters is somewhat typical of the cheap Chinese plastic you find these days but I think they will get the job done for a reasonable amount of time before showing any signs of wear and drying out.
