I've gone through 2 and am working on 3rd at the moment and haven't had any issues with them. The taste is more like a scent and after the 2nd the smell seems to have gone which is ok as the scent was neither a plus nor a minus for me but my aligner case smelled fresh! I've usually chewed them an average of about 30 minutes a day since I bought them, usually 5-10 minutes after brushing my teeth in the morning, another 5-10 minutes after breakfast, and another 5-10 minutes after brushing my teeth before bed. I usually chew a little more often for the first few days and have found that if you don't chew the short end, they start to split lengthwise. They help lower the last 0.5mm of the mouthguard before you start your day and won't damage your aligners. So it's a win-win for a few bucks a month. In addition, they are easy to clean and disinfect. If you like the smell and taste, you can exchange them for trays. My dentist was skeptical about their use but seems to agree so far. All in all very worth the price!
