Had high hopes but as another review says it sinks close to the mattress with use and may not have a pillow at all either. It was absolutely right. So I ordered another memory foam pillow. The second was like lying upside down on a rock (no exaggeration here) and I can only surmise that someone had a warehouse full of 10 year old pillows that were "new" and had never been sold. That's how long it took my amazing memory foam pillow to set. Immediately returned a second one and planned to do the same with this Mugetu pillow. Ordered a third memory foam pillow with the same ergonomic and 3-ply features and it was closer to perfect! I slept on this third one for a couple of nights, and while I was comfortable sleeping on it, I wish it was a little softer. Then I replaced the top layers of the 3rd pillow with this overly soft mugutu memory foam pillow. The ridges didn't match exactly, but it didn't matter at all. Couldn't see or feel any misaligned combs with pillowcase. No slip or slip. And the comfort level has become PERFECT without too much pillow height. Now I couldn't send the Mugetu pad back and keep the comfort of my other shift pad. So I switched other layers and tried different pillow configurations of two sandwich layers to see if I could use this Mugetu pillow just as comfortably and now it works too. That way I can switch layers of these two pillows from time to time and choose more pillows if I want to switch for a while. I like to use a 3rd sleeper pillow (with the mugetu top layer on it) and this mugetu with the part that gets replaced either behind my head or behind my neck (cervical spine injury) when I'm in my LR chair and I need this - something soft soft and thin to make it comfortable in the chair. The soft mugetu also feels good behind my back in the chair, so I'll probably end up putting one of those soft mugetu pillows behind my back (yes, that part of the spine is damaged too) in my chair! This Mugetu pillow is the softest I have ever encountered, it was firm, not gel. But it turns out there are some great ways to use it to soften other pillows or use it in other ways. By the time I discovered its usefulness, it had gone from being completely useless (no stars!) to 5 stars! Sometimes you have to think outside the box to get the best of the best!
