This is a much smaller countertop profile than my FoodSaver which I am currently replacing with this unit. The Food Saver was much larger because it had built in storage for bag rolls which I will never use again. Ready made bags are so cheap and available now that custom sizing is a hassle. The suction is great and it's really cool to have the "blow" function. We've used it a lot this summer to wrap cotton candy for a school fundraiser, and we were able to inflate the bags before sealing to keep the candy from getting crushed. The flushing function is much slower than the suction but both are good and the seals are perfect every time.
