I bought this to use as a sleep cap for my hair but wearing it outdoors would be even better as it is dense and heavy. It gets a little hot in the summer, but in the cool season, it gets great at night. The brim of the hat has an adjustable elastic band that makes it easy to adjust and helps keep it in place throughout the night. It can also be washed well in the washing machine in a linen bag. It held its shape and after being hung out to dry the material was still soft and the silk felt and looked the same.
