My senior lab absolutely loves this bed; he spends far less time trying to "fluff it up" than he has with any of the other beds he has had over the years. It stays pretty fluffy for quite awhile but eventually does lose some of its loft as time goes on. The fabric is very tough and stays soft and looks good despite heavy use. Now, the downside; don"t even TRY to take the cover off to wash it. Because the cover fabric is so fluffy, the zipper was hopelessly jammed with fiber from both the top and the bottom. After spending over an hour trying to clip and pull the fiber out of the zipper and only managing to open the zipper about 9 inches, I totally gave up and threw the whole shebang away.That being said, I AM buying another one of these beds because he loves it so but now know it is only good for as long as you can deal with the doggie smell.
