Follow the size chart by head circumference.

My son's head circumference is 44cm (17.3") and based on reviews of this hat running small I ordered a 24 month size. I had to go by the size chart and order size 18 months. Even though he's tall he still wears it but I have to keep adjusting it as it covers his face and turns to the side. This is not Zutano's fault as I followed the reviews and not the size chart. My suggestion would be to order a size based on your child's head circumference.

Pros

WARMER THAN OTHER HATS: This hat's design, construction and materials keep kids warm. Ordinary children's knit hats or ordinary winter hats don't have the ear buds or strong Velcro closure that the Zutano hunting hat has. This beanie covers most of your child's head with fluffy fleece for extra warmth in any cold weather.
