but I'm glad he can wear it all winter

The only warm hat I've found for babies. My Alaskan baby warms his head with these! The 6 month size is a little big for my newborn (ordered because his sister was born with a head in the 99th percentile. His is big too and the hat is still big) but I'm glad he did she can wear all winter. If necessary, I can put on a thicker pointed cap. We get lots of compliments on his Elmer Fudd hat!

Velcro is ineffective

Size 4T. The hat is disappointing. The velcro is so small that it is ineffective in holding the flaps together while playing.

Good baby hat

I bought it for my 18 month old son. It's well made, soft and fits well. My only complaint is that the Velcro doesn't always stay closed.

  • These hats are the best. Easy to put on and take off. Warm. Don't slip. Close your child's ears. Absolutely worth the price.

  • The design of the trap can slide down and cover the child's eyes, creating a safety hazard.

The best winter hat! in my rating

My baby has about 20 winter hats now. It's the only thing we will wear because it will stay and cover her ears! We live in Vermont and need something to protect them from the weather.

Pros
  • Good quality and very soft. Is narrower than expected, so definitely one size larger.

  • The hat may not be suitable for children with large heads.

Cute, warm and cozy!

I LOVE these hats! There was one for our oldest when she was a child. It's just too bad it didn't have brown and white fur on the front like our old one. But great hat and keeps my baby nice and warm.

Comfortable and warm! good for me

This is a great baby hat. Very soft and cozy. Keeps my baby's head warm and even helps reduce noise when they go outside as the sides cover their ears! She should be able to wear this all winter.

  • Has survived many washes without any problems, I ordered a second one. A must have for busy kids living in cold climates!

  • Because of the fleece material, the hat can be difficult to wash and keep clean.

Warm and sweet!: my review

Bought the 18 month size for my 5 month old so it will last longer before he outgrows him. He stays okay. The chin strap is a little loose, but I don't usually use it. Sometimes it catches his eye when he moves a lot. In any case, I don't stay out in the cold for too long, so it doesn't really matter. Definitely very warm and cute!

  • This is my favorite hat for my little one and the third we have bought after it has outgrown or lost the others. Yummy.

  • The hat may not be suitable for outdoor activities with a lot of movement.

Fit is perfect! in my opinion

This hat fits my LO's head perfectly and keeps her head and ears warm. She tends to take off most hats but leaves this one alone.

This hat is AMAZING but unfortunately my 6 month old is very sensitive.

This hat is AMAZING but unfortunately my 6 month old son has very sensitive skin and has developed hives on his face. But I washed it twice and will try again; it is so sweet.

Please measure your baby's head first to make sure you get it.

Measure your child's head first to ensure you get the right size. A little big. I got 24 months for my 18 month old and it will fit for the whole winter season.

Soft and cozy! good for me

Super soft fleece throughout! Our color is soft pink! Yummy! The velcro works but can't easily hold a child who wants to take their hat off. But it holds the hat and makes them cozy if they don't rip it off.

Warm, stay on!

As others have said they are a little small, I have a 6 month size for my newborn. He was a bit big at first but now at 3 months he is a bit snug. This is the best hat we have because it attaches from the bottom to keep the hat in place. All other hats will fall in his eyes or fall off his head as he fidgets in his car seat or stroller.

Charming but small

I bought this hat for my 6 month old twin grandsons because they are so darn cute. He's short, but his hat doesn't close under his chin. If it were, I would give 5 stars. Get a much bigger size and you will love it.

small but i love it in my review.

This hat is definitely small but very soft and my little one doesn't mind wearing it on her head. The velcro is excellent. My 8 month old has a big head (maybe 85% for her age?) but an 18 month old is perfect. I'm hoping she can survive this winter in the Northeast, but I'm not sure if there isn't much room to grow there at the moment.

SMALL! Check out the size chart! The 18 month size is perfect for my 6 month old.

Wonderful hat. It works a little as many reviewers have said. I looked at the size chart and measured my toddler's head. I ordered the 18 month size for my 6 month old and it fits perfectly. He's in the 70th percentile for head circumference, so he has a slightly larger head than average, but I'm really glad I measured and checked the size chart! I'm glad it's almost spring because he'll be outgrowing it soon!

Pretty but too big

I always bought these hats for my kids. I've never had a problem, they keep them warm and they are so soft! My 8 year old still loves it on cold days. I ordered 4t for my 5 year old child. It's huge! My 8 year old daughter is still her size 4 and when I measured it on my 5 year old daughter the size was perfect. The size seems to have changed because the new 4t fits me (small adult)! I'm keeping it as my kids grow and grow, but it will be boxed until I can use it.

Follow the size chart by head circumference.

My son's head circumference is 44cm (17.3") and based on reviews of this hat running small I ordered a 24 month size. I had to go by the size chart and order size 18 months. Even though he's tall he still wears it but I have to keep adjusting it as it covers his face and turns to the side. This is not Zutano's fault as I followed the reviews and not the size chart. My suggestion would be to order a size based on your child's head circumference.
