Great outdoor PTZ camera for the price.

I was looking for a decent cheap PTZ outdoor camera. Other models I tried claimed to be ONVIF compliant but never did. So far this camera exceeds the requirements I set, with a few caveats. First, design. The case is made of plastic and is very light overall. Although I would have preferred a metal case, the light weight of the case should make installation easier. All connections are on the pigtail coming from the right side of the base. I'd prefer if they were recessed into the base or something, for example, but there's nothing we can do about that! Otherwise, the design is what you would expect from a dome camera. Next configuration. Power is supplied by a 12V 1A transformer with a 5.5mm connector. The included cable is very short but is of a standard size and can easily be replaced with something more authentic. After plugging it in and connecting it to my network, I came to the following conclusion: I highly recommend this camera. Unlike others that require a camera setup app, this one just works. It will be assigned an IP address, after which you can log in and start configuring as needed. While the app is available for both Apple and Android, just enter the camera! Through web configuration, it only takes a few minutes to activate WIFI and connect it to your network. I would like to point out that this camera is indeed ONVIF compliant. Some other cameras claim this but don't. With this camera, it is immediately recorded with the ONVIF Device Manager and can be configured in this way. Thank you from me! Image quality is good, about what I would expect from a camera. During the day it is a bit oversaturated and too harsh. Tweaking the settings slightly improved the image. However, what really sets this camera apart from similar models is the inclusion of headlights. I've included a quick comparison with no light, with illuminators, and standard IR lamps. Both lighting options ensure a good picture in the dark. Spotlights give you color from a shorter distance, while infrared gives you black and white but shows more detail from further away. The PTZ control is also very good. My other internal PTZ cameras have always been very volatile and making minor changes is almost impossible. On the other hand, this camera is much smoother and allows for very slight bumps in the setup. It will remember its last location even when you turn it off! Which none of my other PTZ cameras do (no advanced settings). In general I am satisfied with this camera. I think my only real complaint is how short the power cord is. However, given the current price of this camera, you can add an extension and the price remains about the same, if not lower, than some similar cameras.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Good but not great
