Review on LAPASA Men's Fleece Lined Thermal Underwear Bottoms, Long Johns Light/Mid/Heavy Weight Pants 1&2 Packs (ThermoFlux M10/M56/M25) by Andrew Webster

If they're middleweights, I wouldn't want to see lightweights! But there is also good news.

I bought Lapasa briefs last year and was amazed by the warmth and comfort. They must have been "heavyweight" because they were significantly heavier than these disappointing specimens (and this time I had a choice between light and medium when I bought them). I would be much better off ordering a pair of heavyweights, even at the same price as these two pairs of middleweights. I'm just surprised there's such a jump from hard to intermediate. If you're looking for a serious boost to your ability to stay warm in cold conditions, don't buy these flimsy pieces - find heavy duty briefs from Lapasa (or some other brand!) instead. Maybe I should try wearing both pairs at the same time! (You know, I meant it as a joke, but hey, I think I'll give it a try, it might work.) PS Today (12/26/20) I discovered that I can buy a pair of heavyweights for 26.99 what I had to do on December 17th when I ordered two pairs of medium weights for 35.99. Why didn't I do it? As far as I remember, I couldn't find any heavy models, only expensive ones made from 100% merino wool at $51.99 a pair. Anyway, now that it's New Year's Eve I should probably end this (yes, I totally forgot) by saying that I've actually tried wearing both pairs at the same time and the results have been very good, comparable to got a heavy pair last year. So for a serious boost in warmth, you can buy what I bought - two pairs of medium-sized ones, which I mostly wear together - or a pair of heavy-weight ones for nine bucks less. I recommend switching to Heavy.

Pros
  • Consistent results when tested
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
