Bought a pair of lightweight portable tripods to compare. I needed something to hold the class projector in multiple places. Both tripods were similar in design, but this one was definitely cruder. Tolerances weren't that precise and everything worked, but a little off. For example, the metal projector stand doesn't screw straight on, so it's not exactly level. Also, no instructions came with the tripod, which is good, but I didn't realize there is a separate screw head that you need to assemble. Detach from the tripod to set up the platform for the projector. My husband knows more about tripods and was able to show me. The "non-slip" mat that comes with the platform is cheap foam and in the end I'm not sure I'll use it and the platform is quite heavy. In the end I decided to keep this tripod as it was about half the price of another tripod. I think I can live with a tripod that's a bit rough around the edges.
