I bought 2T underwear for my child who wears 2T all the time. I had so much trouble finding underwear small enough for his tiny butt that I didn't buy a size larger than I usually do. I wish I had. I've been warned by other reviewers that they're a little small and that's true. They fit him almost exactly and maybe a little tight around his legs. If I were to buy 3T I know we might get some clothes from them in the future. My only complaint is that the rubber strap is poor quality and a bit stiff. I can imagine how uncomfortable it is, the hard prickly elastic bands on his inner thighs, although I didn't notice any signs of chafing. He likes the pattern
