The video and sound quality on this monitor is good and it can also be placed outside and on the opposite side of the house without any problems. I think it's great that you can use the power tilt and pan to look around the room and also talk through the monitor. It has temperature and noise alerts that you can customize or turn off entirely. Ours is outside (but in a covered dry area) and so far no weather problems.
