Description of Classic Collection SuperMask II - Horse Fly Mask, Assorted colors

Fly Mask for Horses keeps flies, dust, dirt and debris away from your horse's eyes and face and also protects from harmful UV rays. The fly mask double-latch closure is located under the jaw, not on the cheekbone, making it harder for other horses to reach. Fly Mask aids in healing after eye injuries without obstructing vision. The see-through mesh with plush, flyproof trim keeps flies out. Fly Mask provides maximum comfort without rubbing or harsh abrasion.

I gave up this fly mask

I've been buying these fly masks for many years and have spent a small fortune on them and sometimes one lasts a week! The horse starts rubbing his eyes and bam there's a hole and the fibers of the mask can pierce his eyes! I found another mask that works much better, no eye holes yet! Too bad I didn't discover this other mask a long time ago.

Durable/cleans well

I'm finally giving up on this mask after over 5 years of use! The only reason I bought another one is that the velcro finally broke after so many uses. It is worn daily in the stable, outdoors and during transport. I have washed it in the washing machine many times in a mild bleach solution. He has held up remarkably well. The only thing I like more is the Cashel brand, but it's second best!

does the job; not the most durable and comfortable

They don't seem very durable - they tear very easily on my mini pony. She's strict with masks, but they don't seem to last long on others either. The problem when they tear is all that rough plastic rubbing against their faces. One thing is good, they are slightly large and loose fitting little horses. This means, of course, that they come loose easily. I'll buy them and the Dura mask. The Dura mask seems to fit a little better but is a little cheaper.

Good mask but edges around the face not protected

While the opening around the ears has a nice soft edge, the edges of the mask around the back of the face/jaw are NOT padded. The mesh of the mask is rough and has hundreds of dots scratching my purebred's face. Luckily my wife knows how to sow and put a soft border of fabric around the mask. I've bought other masks from this brand that came fully hemmed all over, so I'm not sure if this one was left unfinished due to poor quality control or if they just skipped that step to keep costs down…

Same good product - some fit issues

I ordered this mask for our one year old filly Morgan. This is the same quality as the rest of our (old) Farnam fly masks, which put my mind at ease after some of the reviews I've read. All in all it works fine. My only complaint is that the fit on my horse is not very good. Obviously a fly mask suitable for most yearlings wouldn't be perfect so it wasn't that surprising. The fly mask is loose at the bottom but fits tight around the neck. I suspect it has more to do with their race. It's not a…

The quality of Farnam products is deteriorating!

Farnam took an excellent product and managed to make it worse than their previous models. I ordered this mask for a miniature horse as they discontinued the original SuperMask in miniature horse sizes. I took it out of the box and immediately noticed that they no longer put fluffy material around the back and neck and the edge is just turned over and sewn leaving a very rough and scratchy seam that can rub on the horse's head and side of the face. I guess it saves them pennies in production! I…

Dramatic changes in design and fit!

Farnam redesigned these masks and I'm guessing the model used was a plastic horse that doesn't itch or move. The black mask in the photos is an earlier version of this FOAL sized mask that was modeled from my 220 lb size A mini horse that measures 28 inches at the withers. The blue mask is a new version of the foal of the same size. Huge in every aspect of the design, it bends too low and touches the sensitive area around the nose, causing headshakes. I've always had to adapt foal sized fly…
