Difficult to assemble but nice to look at

Overall I'm glad I bought the 23" kit. Upon unboxing I wasn't sure about the gold tone but once assembled and placed they were very pretty. However, your "step-by-step guide" is an absolute joke. They don't give you instructions on how to use the gear, so while there isn't much of it, you definitely need some experience and forethought to put these things together. Rather than marking the posts so you know how deep to screw them in, you have to start with a little trial and error, which isn't much fun and definitely isn't necessary. Start by threading one of the nuts about 1.5 inches over the longest post. Place this end in the base. Place one or two small candle sections onto the stick (depending on what size candlestick you have) and make sure the stick sticks out of the tip far enough to screw the larger main candle section onto it. If you don't get this part right, you'll end up with a silver metal stick sticking out of the center of the candlestick, which doesn't look pretty. Once you have determined where the post will be, thread another nut under the base at the other end of the post. Use the included black plastic tool to tighten it. After the larger part of the candle is properly screwed in, screw in the smaller stick just enough so that the end does not stick out in the center of the candlestick. Place another small section of the candle on top. Place the base on top and screw in another nut to secure it. I haven't messed with the washers and I have a nut for each candlestick, but they're strong and good, so what?

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • There are downsides
