This straightener has 1" and 1/4" floating plates. I bought this for my mother for Christmas as she has short hair. This is ideal for short hair as it is smaller. It would also be great to take with you in your purse for touch ups. It heats up quickly and works great on wavy hair. She likes to use it. It has a built in safety feature that turns itself off after 60 minutes, which I really liked as it often forgets to turn something off or unplug it. Temperature 360-450. Great iron!
