This is an excellent mount. It's a very thick, solid piece of metal, making it very durable. Most of the cheaper lot I looked at was a few pieces of metal held together and I didn't trust them. Also, this mount is slightly narrower than advertised since you don't need to use the plastic end caps if you don't want to. If you omit them, you'll probably save 3 inches total. I used this mount on a 55 inch TV - no problem, nothing shows even with plastic and plugs. I also chose this size because it's one of the few that has mounting holes throughout, including the center. My location is centered on a stud and I needed a bracket wide enough to reach the studs on the left and right. This is the only one I could find that I thought would work. And it worked incredibly well
