The nightmare of installing

The box says there are instructions in the box and shows where to cut the box to find them. That's a lie. An inexplicable barcode on the lid leads to a wordless video save for some broken English subtitles. He then recommends purchasing their installation kit. No thank you. You will need a pen, ruler, tape (possibly), tape measure, utility knife, spatula, spray bottle, and dish soap. It would be nice to hear about it. After spraying "soapy water" on the window, it is recommended to spray the film with "water" twice. It's unclear, but we've used soapy water all three times and it seems to have worked. It's almost impossible to peel the backing off the foil. The idea is to put tape on the film and backing and use it to pull them apart. Sounds like a good idea, but reality has other plans. Normal adhesive tape immediately peels off a smooth surface. Satin ribbon, masking tape, adhesive tape, packing tape, and electrical tape are also suitable. After trying without Scotch for some time and giving up and bringing back almost everything, we started the corner. The plan is to cut the oversized foil and trim at the window. Sounds like a good idea. A Few Problems You might think that the goal is "a little" too big. no If the excess is too small, you cannot trim it straight. You'll need at least a few inches on each side. Then, while the film is easy to cut with a sharp utility knife, the vinyl window frame and the rubber grommet that holds the glass in place are VERY easy to cut. Our window now has a few unsightly nicks that we didn't want to add. All in all a decent product marred by very poor instructions (and the fact that the instructions are hidden).

Pros
  • is clear even for the old
Cons
  • . Some little things
