The mattress is both organic and bamboo so wanted to protect it as my 8 year old son likes to snack in his bedroom from time to time: I can wash sheets and covers, I can't wash a very expensive mattress. And just as a hint! When will bedding manufacturers decide that we should all face up/down the sides? Serious. How hard can it be.? Sew, tag, tag?! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE A THIN MATTRESS 12" or less OR SLIGHTLY THICKER than 16" that curls or slips. My son's mattress is 14.5 cm thick and fits perfectly. It's taut, doesn't wrinkle, and seems to stay in place. It will be interesting to see if it's actually waterproof, although I hope I never find out. I think I would buy it again even if I don't have the durability. definitely with this product. The packaging is incredibly secure. probably 10-15% of the cost of the product - laughs. I love that everything is recyclable. Good that the plastic is not visible.
