Cerwin-Vega SL-15 15" 3-Way Tower Floorstanding Speakers In my humble opinion I don't think you will need a subwoofer with them so save up money in the long run if you install a 2 channel system. You can look at the specs on these speakers and from what I've read there is no reason why they can't be used to listen to all types of music. Bear in mind that I have sensitive ear issues and the high pitched tone bothers them and I can tell you the highs on these speakers are not overly harsh like some of the newer speakers I've heard these days, perhaps the sound of the woofers matches everything off so i'd say it's a warm sound these speakers made my vintage pioneer sound better than ever it always had detail but never lost enough bass, so far it's also only about 12 watts per channel, the CV speakers are efficient enough to get a pretty good volume even at 12 watts in my small cabinet. When I want to ventilate the whole living room a bit I switch to my Onyko, it's 85w. The last one I have is a 150w amp. I'll try and do a follow up then, but in a small room it might be overkill with these speakers I don't want to pierce my ears. At the moment I'll probably be hearing a lot more from my old Pioneer. These big old school style floorstanding speakers are hard to find these days, most of those on the market are overpriced and some of them are just big bookshelf speakers on stands. I don't know for sure, just what I've experienced) that they're designed to make dialogue sound good in movies if you buy two at once, and they really don't sound very good for music unless they're are included in a full surround sound system.
