I bought a new one. I collect them from junkyards and I know it's a Dorman by the number stamped on the tank itself. Caps are generally cheap, not a problem for me since I know better, go to NAPA and get a $5 or $6 stant cap. For the most part, the transmitters are good, and I've only found one of about 20 used ones I've bought. However, be careful with the transmitter unit when connecting/disconnecting the wiring harness as you can loosen it and essentially render the transmitter unit unusable (if the coolant light is flashing this can often be easily caused by a faulty transmitter unit, but they are also dangerous for cracking.) If yours boils out after changing the antifreeze, you may have air in the system. After it's up to operating temperature, it sometimes helps to turn the car off for 20 minutes while it gurgles and opens up the airspace.
