I bought these for my kids (6 and 3 year olds) but although they are a bit big there are a few things about the design that make them a great option make. More for them: -Pockets: There are 2 large zipped pockets and a mesh pocket on the back meaning kids can carry their own snacks and if they want to carry sticks/rocks they can take as many as they want. wear! - Hose connection: the hoses are usually very difficult to clean, but they are completely detachable, which makes emptying and cleaning MUCH easier! There is a cap. Not only does this keep the mouthpiece clean, but it also keeps the valve closed so water doesn't spill all over the place. It's also handy to attach the hose to another shoulder strap to keep it from hanging down. Long story short, I wish they had a smaller hose so I could steal it from my kids. I have a Camlebak and my husband has a High Sierra reservoir. Both have their advantages, but this design beats them both. Aside from the smaller size option, I would only change the design if you could adjust the height of the chest strap to make it better for smaller kids.
