The OEM lamp is outrageously expensive for our KitchenAid Microwave Light (below). For this amount at this price we figured why not take a chance. The lamp fits our device. We can't attest to longevity just yet, but even if it burns out sooner, volume-to-price ratio may well win in the end. As others have pointed out, it is extremely important NOT to touch these halogen bulbs with your bare hands. This shortens the life of the bulbs. Be sure to wear latex or similar gloves when handling these and other halogen lamps, including but not limited to automotive lamps.
