Setup: I'm not very tech savvy so if I can set it up I probably can. Please note that the projector must be connected to the network. :P The remote doesn't come with AAA batteries, but you don't really need the remote except to adjust the volume, the buttons on the projector work to adjust it. For iPhone/iPad (with Lightning HDMI cable, sold separately)/Revain Fire Stick (no additional cables required), do the following: On the first page, select "Source" in purple. You can tell which field is selected by the rounded corners. On the next page, select HDMI in purple. When all your devices are powered on and connected to the network, you should go to your screen (iPhone) or Amazon home page (Firestick). USE WITH FIRE STICK: Very easy to use with Amazon Fire Stick. With the Amazon Fire Handle, this projector can play Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, Hulu, etc. It works the same with the projector as it does with the TV. iPhone/iPad: You MUST purchase a Lightning to HDMI converter cable to connect to iPhone. It is not included. You must also ensure that the Lightning/HDMI Converter is connected to a POWER SUPPLY, otherwise it will not work. Your iPhone/iPad does NOT support Netflix or Disney+ or any of your streaming apps (it does support Twitch though). There is sound but the picture is blank. My tech friends told me it was because of the encryption in the apps. It's still good for watching stuff on YouTube. Bottom line: if you want to use it to watch Netflix, add a fire stick to your cart, it's only around $30. If you want to watch movies outside, a projector extension cable (and a fire stick) will suffice.
