Beautiful prism in optics

Nice set of base prisms (three different sizes). Used it to demonstrate on a clear, sunny day outside (or with light coming out of a window) by placing prisms on a table with a white poster that a prism can separate white sunlight into different colors (purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red) to create clean, science-based artistic patterns that can be photographed (or redrawn) if you like. Interestingly, the flashlight doesn't produce many colors. In addition, by placing various prisms in a pattern on white poster board through which sunlight was shining, one could observe the basic principles of optical physics of diffraction, reflection, transmission, absorption and shadows. Of course, as a side issue, when working with sunlight (with or without optics) it's common sense not to look directly at the sun. These prisms (like many other prisms) are made of glass which can shatter or shatter if dropped on hard ground or on top of each other, so as with other prisms, handle with care. The package arrives on time, undamaged, with a box for storing prisms, with inner packaging and cushioning material. Overall good value for money.

Pros
  • Material: optical glass, not plastic.
