After 40 years I realized that to combat my increasingly gray hair I had to make a decision - use a product to reduce it, do nothing or mean it to shave his head. Like most guys, I chose the first option. If you've never used this before, I highly recommend trying it! It only takes 5-10 minutes, doesn't smell like most hair coloring products and the color lasts at least a month - longer than traditional bleaching and toning methods. It is important to understand that this product will NOT lighten your hair, even if you choose a color that is lighter than your natural color. Instead, this product is designed to darken lighter (grey) hair to a base level - any color you choose. The longer you leave it before washing, the darker it gets. So if your sides are grayer than the top, just apply it to the sides a few minutes before the top for an even color/tone. The beauty of this system is that once you find the color and application time that works for you, you can use the same system every time for consistent results. Just for Men has been making these paints for years, so once you've made it a few times it's easy to stick with the system. Important Tip: The product may temporarily (for a few days) darken your skin after a few minutes. Therefore, before applying, lightly apply petroleum jelly to the hairline and top of the ears to avoid unwanted skin discoloration. Saving tip: If you have short hair, you can simply use half the product and double the number of applications. One complaint I have is the EXTREMELY crappy loose vinyl gloves introduced in the new product version. They are so fluffy and cheap that they make it difficult to apply the product. The old version had a good pair of standard rubber gloves. If you use this, make sure you get yourself a pair of rubber gloves.
