I used this cable to connect my home lab in the basement to an outbound router. It works and I haven't noticed any bottlenecks or cable loss. I'm not surprised it can run at gigabit speeds, it's a pretty low bar, all I needed was a long flat cable to run it around the house and across the floor without having to drill new holes.
