Since there was only one accident with a curb, I am unable to determine how strong it is, but there was no sign of it. Lowering the tires will solve comfort issues, but there won't be any precise handling. To make it simpler to drive through the joints, you can also just lower the front. You don't even need to pump up the word; tires keep pressure quite well.
