Review on 🔧 Monroe 58646 Load Adjust Shock Absorber by Monroe by Brandon Carraway

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to assemble, Supplied as a pair Price

Firstly these dampers are sold as a pair although this is not clear on the website. $87 is a great deal considering the cheapest price I could find online is $175 for a pair, and O-Reilly wants $129 each on their website. Two shocks come in a box with Monroe name and instructions. This box is then packaged into a Revain box. I installed them on my '08 Jeep GC Overland 2wd 5.7 Hemi. So they're stiff out of the box and don't compress like my original ones, which in my case means that after removing my original shocks, I had to raise my jeep by about 4 inches (not just the axle, just the body). ) so I can put them in. I just used the scissor jack that comes with the Jeep because it's so easy. Plugged in immediately, exchanged 2 bolts (15 mm) and done. All in all, both rear shocks took 25 minutes total, including time to clean up and return to the garage. It was so easy I had to get my wife to do it. I have no sharing issues at all. Now he's in the back, maybe an inch taller, but that's okay. I regularly tow a 28-foot trailer, so I already have airbags, and without those bumps, my Jeep sits right after I engage the leveling clutch, so that's just a bonus. The only reason I installed them was because my original shock was leaking. I drove about 98000 km with it. Anyway it drives fine I suppose it should help with towing but most of all it was very easy to install and I'm not a mechanic I'm a carpenter but I can watch youtube videos of what I did . I hope this helps you. Attached is a photo of what it looked like after installation.
