Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Hifi Stereo Bluetooth 5.0 Tube Amplifier MM Phono Amp for Turntables - 320W Power Output by Vace Thompson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pleasantly surprised. NOS GE JAN 5654W included!

I ordered this not expecting to be blown away by such a relatively cheap little amp but here I am. In my spare time I repair old receivers and loudspeakers as well as other electronics. I recently needed speakers in a location that didn't fit my b&o Beomaster 8000, so I set out to find them. I needed something with a built in phono stage/ground, RCA inputs for radio broadcasts, and Bluetooth. It hit the spot and had enough power to power my 80's Bose 501. Along with this bonus was a tube preamp. The construction is strong, heavy and beautiful. And pleases with a wide range of DC voltages, so if the bulky power supply (24V 5A) ever gives up the ghost, I can easily replace it. The sound quality is typical for an AB without a preamp, but with the preamp it's more like my B&O Class A monoblock. Bluetooth works without issues and connects quickly to my iPhone 12 Pro Max without the beeping that other receivers have ( it bothers me ). good stable level. The floor works well, with no noise even at high volumes. But the big surprise are the included lamps. Since the lamps are made in China by a company I've never heard of, I expected the lamps to be either inferior or completely fake. My jaw dropped when I saw the original, made in USA, NOS, General Electric, 5654W in the box. And not just any 5654W, but the infamous JAN type. JAN is a Mil-Spec type built for durability and performance and is considered by many to be one of the best for audio applications. I keep a few in my personal stash for repairs because I know they probably never go bad. Overall I'm impressed. In terms of size, form factor, number of inputs, sound quality and price, I have no regrets.
