*** edit 5/18 Today I downgraded my original 3 star rating to 1 star. I hate this laptop, it's complete junk. Along with all of the issues I originally listed, the screen size would randomly change when the trackpad was moved in a certain way. It's not that it accidentally increased the size where you can shrink it to 100% (which wouldn't be acceptable on a new laptop either), but it actually shifts everything on the screen a bit to the right when it gets that far zoom in as you can. can no longer be seen on the far right of the screen. You can try reducing the size, but that just makes everything smaller - everything is still off-center and too small to read. I can't believe the new laptop has so many problems. The calculator keeps popping up out of nowhere, maybe it has something to do with the random appearance of the number pad? I just can't handle this thing. I've initiated a return but it's not sold through Revain so it wasn't easy and I'm waiting 48 hours for the seller to approve my return. I was hoping to give it to the UPS shop yesterday who usually issue a refund immediately after scanning and receiving another computer before the weekend. This will not happen as I am awaiting approval for my return. Do not buy this computer. My previous ASUS that I liked so much was a Vivobook and I spent $400 after looking at my order history from 2016. I saved $100 and it definitely shows. End Edit*** The first thing that struck me right out of the box is that this laptop isn't pink. It's rose gold and a bit ugly. However, I didn't buy it because it was pink, but because my favorite laptop in the last decade has been a similarly priced ASUS. Maybe another one costs $400. Still, I was devastated when my cat poured a cup of coffee on him. Since then I didn't like any other laptop, so I chose another ASUS. This is the first time I've had this new number pad on a trackpad. It would be awesome if it didn't randomly turn on and be difficult to toggle on and off when you really want it. I've already encountered this problem and messed up a few paid tasks I completed today. Another downside is that the system's speakers are too quiet. I tried to stream something last night and even after completely changing the system audio I had trouble hearing my show on the TV in another room, which was never a problem with other computers. The screen quality is also pretty poor. . It's okay if you don't stream something and it looks terrible. Unfortunately I will most likely be sending it back. I can live with ugly colors but I don't think I can live with paid track dysfunction and sound and screen quality.
