I do not want to recommend something to anyone, I write only my subjective feelings and opinions. I’m not going to argue with someone why I don’t think the way I wrote, I don’t agree - it happens that this is your opinion, but I have my own, please don’t prove something to me. In general, I bought a new 205/55 R16 for Golf 5, I drive an automatic, so I decided to buy tires with spikes, before that I also had Gislaved only Nord Frost 5. I decided to buy 200 because it looks like ice contact, and it’s newer. At first, the run-in was up to 70 km / h - it was buzzing . The run-in took place about 1000 km, then it became noticeably quieter, after the run-in all the spikes were in place. I want to say right away that before the run-in, the behavior of the rubber was much worse . Perhaps the people who described their problems felt them during the run-in. What I immediately liked about the rubber compared to the previous one is that it rows snow well. Handling on asphalt, that of the one that this rubber has, in principle, feels the same - it’s good, it doesn’t drive, it brakes well . I ran into a problem when I had to move quickly, there was a small layer of snow on the asphalt, it was frosty outside, the roads were sprinkled reagents and this snow had just begun to melt - one might say not a deep porridge from dry snow - I didn’t manage to get under way quickly, I skidded for a long time before going. Perhaps this is normal on such a surface . I used to get on icy areas - I can’t say that I braked perfectly, but it satisfied me, all the same, you need to drive carefully on ice, regardless of the type of rubber and its manufacturer. I would like to note that on the highway at a speed of more than 100, if an icy area came across (not quite ice, but like such a shiny asphalt), then the car drove a little. Perhaps this rubber is not ideal, but where to get it now, there is nothing ideal. I thought about the asymmetric pattern, read articles, they seem to write that they are better than symmetrical ones in terms of characteristics. What I liked most about this rubber is that it is predictable.
