So far so good, worked straight away, I put it in the door of my mini freezer that I carry under the cover in the back of my pickup when I tow my camper. Yesterday, July 3rd, it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside and I was getting warmer - 3 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold. So I turned off the freezer to save energy and not around the 8F. Still 24 below zero. Now I have popsicles, frozen drinks and frozen steak for any roadside emergency. The only problem is figuring out how to provide a continuous 5 volt power supply to the thermostat. My inverter has a 5V USB, but I only run it while driving on the road. I use shore power when camping and it requires different lengths of cord to switch back and forth. and must remember. I like the display, fast, responsive. I take another to put in the cab to monitor the bearing temp while parked with the engine running and the AC motor. for any purpose you can think of.
