Well it's more environmentally friendly than plastic toothbrushes, which is great. There was no plastic packaging, solid cardboard. The toothbrushes look the same but are numbered 1 through 12. So if you have more than 1 person in your bathroom you just need to know your number otherwise you could put some paint on it I suppose. There are a few downsides, it's a really weird feeling when you're used to plastic toothbrushes, it has a flavor (not chemical, it tastes like you're eating wood) and although bamboo isn't as porous as most other woods, it's all even more porous than plastic, so it holds more bacteria. All of this is manageable, you'll get used to the weird feel and taste, and the bacteria, just rinse and dry your toothbrush and change it every month. There are some advantages too aside from being eco-friendly compared to plastic, carbon bristles seem to help whiten my teeth, they're on par with pricier toothbrushes but a lot cheaper, and they have hard enough bristles that they're really clean. Plaque from teeth but not strong enough to damage them. In terms of sustainability, I think they're definitely worth it, even without all the good stuff.
