I used this product in a wooden chest I made from pallets. The trunk has a hole for the cats on the side and their litter box is inside so dogs can't get to it. I figured it would be pretty dark in there with the lid closed, so I looked for battery-powered LED lights with motion detection so the cats could actually see. This product seemed like the best choice to me for the price and ease of installation. I was not disappointed with my purchase. This works great for cats so far, but also works great when I open the trunk at night to check the litter box. The motion sensor seems to have a long range as it usually turns on when I open the trunk lid which should be at least 150° from the light source mounted on the inside front of the trunk. and warm white light because I don't need to see crystal clear what's going on in the tray. just enough to know Even the cats don't seem to mind entering.
