Before purchasing, I read all the reviews of this camera on Revain and other sites. I'm not a professional photographer but I'm a journalist, I need high quality photos from anywhere and anytime. what about my photos They are excellent, I mean you don't get magazine quality photos if you don't know what you're doing, but there are two amateur auto settings that I use the most because when I'm taking honest photos I really don't have the time to sit there and play around with exposure or anything. Zoom for a few days! I love it. They're great for taking photos at a football game or anywhere else you can't get up close and personal. The only thing I can say about the camera is that the battery compartment is weak. I saw the comments on this so I was careful with my camera when I first got it. Because the memory card is in the same place as the batteries, you'll have to open the flap to take photos, but the camera comes with cables. That's why I always take the cable with me and always use it to take pictures with the camera. The lens cap is also quite thin. The cover itself is fine, but it's not the kind of cover that you pinch on the sides for it to detach and attach to your camera, it just slides open. This means it can be removed quite easily. But when I hold my camera bag in one hand and pull out the camera with the other. I don't really have a hand to remove the cap, so sometimes it's nice to be able to remove it just by pulling the lens into the camera bag. I don't think the camera is very fragile. I once dropped my camera because the strap got tangled around a corner when I was going to pick up the camera. However it didn't hit the lens, the bottom of my camera where the batteries fell on the floor and my door flew open and my batteries rolled all over the place but everything still works great. To be honest, you could have a small Sony or even Fuji digital camera for the same price and camera quality. But I chose the FinePixS2950 because I like holding something sturdy and I LOVE the viewfinder. This is a regular viewfinder, what you see is what you get. I had a Sony CyberShot which I loved but when the screen broke and I had to use the viewfinder I realized I was zoomed in all the way. My photo was completely different from what I wanted to photograph. However, this Fuji has an electronic viewfinder, which also means I can switch from the LCD screen when the sun is shining and see what I'm doing. I LOVE my camera and it's worth the money.
