This is actually a really good hot comb. I got hurt by the old school knees that had to be put on the stove, but those are actually bee knees. If you're feeling adventurous, you can turn off the protection, but for simplicity I'd suggest leaving it on. This comb is a different heat level without it, but still nothing crazy. And you can also use the back end of the comb *with an attachment*, but I would recommend using the real side of the comb first and then doubling down the other side, and don't forget to work some oil into your hair for a to avoid burning. #not your mommycomb
