Review on Ultra 1080P Monitor Sceptre E248W-1920R with 60Hz Refresh Rate, Flicker-Free Technology, and Tilt Adjustment by Brian Bellamy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I should have bought that first.

Two years ago I finally assembled my current gaming rig. It sits in the middle and can barely top Monster Hunter World on the highest chart. Since my budget was mostly on the GPU and CPU (graphics/processor), I borrowed an old HDTV and started on it until I felt like I could part with $100. This monitor is worth it. I was lucky to find this model at this price. I'll admit I wasn't happy with the slight green cast compared to a TV that was a cooler blue, even after recalibrating the colors. Since I also paint and design digitally, the differences bother me, but with 1080p vs. 720p I see a wider range. I'm not unfamiliar, but it's just re-familiarizing itself with wider color visibility. At night this thing gets bright. I use Pando's dimmer to make the colors gray at night because it's a hassle to get to the controls. You are behind the monitor. There is no remote control. I would like a separate brightness control. Otherwise, compared to my $80 Acer, I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a second Spectre.
