Review on OM Digital Solutions AS-2300 PC Transcription Kit: Enhanced Efficiency for Transcribing Tasks by Jonathan Arroyo

Although I love my Olympus digital recorder and it's the only foot pedal that works with its software, this pedal is just horribly constructed. First, the main center section of the pedal isn't big enough to "play" - it's barely as wide as my (men's size 6) boot - so every time you lift your foot to press on reverse you don't get it back RIGHT back to center, mistakenly press rewind or FF again. THE BIG PROBLEM is the most important thing a pedal is for! I constantly had to step back and look at my shoe to see where it was on the pedal. where the play pedal ends and the raised rewind and FF buttons are located. The second issue I notice is that rewind is on the right and fast forward is on the left! HM? Why on earth are they pushing them out of their instinctual places? Third, the price is just ridiculous. If you think you can buy the pedal separately with a different part/model number that you can find elsewhere, think again - you must have the CD that came with this pedal in order to use the pedal's functions in the Olympus Unlock software - without a CD, the software that came with your recorder will not recognize the power pedal. However, it works if you take your shoes off, which is the only option I could find.
