Disappointed. Bought because the earth jack seemed like a great idea, and rightly so. But the piston strainer doesn't fit snugly against the carafe. The ground coffee will inevitably wash over the plunger and end up floating in your coffee. The strainer on the spout catches the large coffee grounds, but the fine particles go straight through and end up in your cup. The last few sips are a gritty, muddy mess. I've experimented with coarser grinds, but even with almost whole beans, there are still a lot of grains of sand in the coffee. On a positive note, the grinder works well and is easy to clean. Nice and compact on the counter. My other press has a large ornate handle and a wide base. It just seems to take up more space.
