I bought this because it looked like a good mattress topper for warm sleepers, which it is. I really wish there were some merino wool options or some type of wool that seems good for warm sleepers, but then of course the cost would be higher. It was about half the price of the mattress store I bought my bed from so I bought it here on Amazon. I don't regret the purchase but didn't really consider that my cat's claws would pierce the guard but that's not a deal breaker. Another point I will note, this mattress topper doesn't seem to have a heavy duty waterproof barrier, it's fairly light weight but that helps make it so quiet and doesn't make a noise when I move like some others that do can sound and feel like sleeping on Visqueen.
