This MUST be a charcoal filter - you put it in your microwave, when you turn on the fan it forces air through the dense matrix and the charcoal catches and pushes out unpleasant fumes. Is not it! It's some kind of thin rubber/plastic mesh with holes big enough for you to see the other side. That's stupid. It offers no filtering. Also, the metal frame isn't even the right size, there's a nice big gap between the metal and the microwave channel - even if it were activated charcoal, loads of unfiltered air would get in
