Review on 🎧 Topping D70 HiFi Balanced DAC Audio Decoder XMOS XU208 AK4497 OPA1612 DSD512 32Bit/768KHz USB/Optical/Coaxial/AES/IIS with Remote Control - Black by Randy Washington

As always a great product from Topping. It replaces my old DAC, the D50 (which is also from Topping and which I recommend) because I wanted to use a balanced XLR for my headphones and headphone amp. There's a noticeable improvement in sound in the form of more accurate mapping after the upgrade, although I can't tell if that's due to the AKM chip in the D70 or the ESS in the D50 switching from unbalanced mix to balanced XLR, or something quite different (placebo, but that's a topic for another day). Like all other topping devices, the D70 looks very utilitarian, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The general build quality is excellent, with metal buttons and a well finished and thick metal chassis the whole device feels sturdy, solid and not cheap in the slightest. The user interface is minimalist and very easy to navigate through all the functions and options with the included remote control. Honestly, there isn't much more to say here. The result is excellent sound quality, the device and all its functions work reliably, and the design looks and feels premium. Good job topping!
