The bag does not take up much space because it is small. I use open top gallon bags to line it but it already contains plastic like a lining and the bag can be easily rinsed. Velcro tape, easy to attach to the shift knob or headrest. This might not work for someone who eats in the car all the time and has a lot of junk, but it's okay if you create just a little junk.
