Bought this to carry water while hiking and to use as a sink. It works well for both applications. Because it's flexible, scooping water out of a lake or stream can be a little awkward, and when you lift it by the handles, the top compresses and you lose some water. This is the nature of the flexible bucket. But if there's water in this bucket, it won't spill out. I've left water in it overnight with no leaks. And it's fine to use in places where temperatures drop below freezing overnight because it's flexible and won't snap when it freezes. made a serious journey where every gram of weight counts. But for most trips I think the cost makes up for the weight.
