I have a Yungnuo YN622 and they are rated for about 300ft and in most cases I can get to 250ft with no problem. The best I've been able to get out of the PlusX is around 600 feet, at which distance it misses 20% of the triggers. Pocket Wizard advertises 1600 feet, but I don't see how that would ever happen. I'd be happy with 1000 feet, but that's nowhere near. My particular application requires a long range trigger and this device will not do that. I've noticed that the PocketWizard III has high and low power settings, but the PlusX doesn't seem to have it, so I have to assume they're firing at max power all the time. YES I could buy another one and use it as a repeater but if I have to do that I would rather buy the Wizard III. I also noticed that there are other sellers that advertise a 1600ft range but if you look at the specs they say the range is 1000ft. It sounds closer to the actual range. I should return them and try Wizard III.
