Initial review: I've currently paired this with a GSP 600 and it sounds better than any gaming headset I've tried with this combination of sound card and headset. . Worse than the HyperX Cloud II, for example, I would only say that the 7.1 surround sound is very good down to the last detail. While it might be a good thing because it's more complex and detailed, HyperX Cloud II 7.1's surround sound is much more direct in terms of surround direction. So while this sound card delivers the best 7.1 surround sound when you listen to it, it's not the best for making quick decisions and making calls if you're not familiar with that kind of 7.1 surround sound. It's like an old man who likes crappy dating UIs instead of a fancy new UI someone built for the same website. Also, as everyone else has said, there are presets in the four corners of the sound card that you can select and change. . But it is VERY delicate. So sensitive, in fact, I could put my hand on one of the corners and call it. You don't even have to physically touch it. The volume wheel is great. It feels natural and intuitive when you want to control the volume without having to think about how to do it. The sound card manual itself covers most of the things you need to do to set up the sound, but doesn't work. mention one. Also, you need to make your sound card the default audio device. By default it doesn't, and this is the headset you've plugged in. So make sure you also make the default audio device your sound card, otherwise the sound will be terrible.
