I’m really impressed by these shoes. I wore them for the first time on a 4 1/2 mile hike with 1,200 elevation gain.snowy, rocky, gravel. I can’t speak to the tread because I had Yaktrax on but my feet weren’t sore at all afterward. The toe box was roomy, which is important to me. I have very expensive Merells I can’t wear because of how tight the toe box is. We shall see how they hold up over time.*UPDATE*I have now hiked in these many times in varying weather and terrain. They are the best hiking shoes I have owned.
